I think to people who aren't all hardcore horror cutesy kind is what they prefer. I think people have different ideas of cute horror, but to me it's like The Nightmare Before Christmas or Edward Scissorhands. Kid horror movies or just movies with monsters and no horror.
I have nothing against Hello Kitty halloween edition. I'm just thinking about all these things in horror, what about the things not meant to be? I mean supposed to be cute and ends up going wrong? I have a headless doll in my room. I got it broken so the head falls off if I mess with it. And the eyes stare.
I have to wonder about the end of the Howling. That werewolf who changed looked so cute and harmless, you're like why'd yu kill it?! I mean I'd understand if suddenly it became menacing, but no.
While I was surfing FearNet, I stumbled upon articles about home made halloween bento boxes. You know I should make something awesome like that. Those need to be cute because if they aren't you feel disturbed eating them. I would.
. . . The whole reason for this random entry was for this tthing where I watched thirty second movies of popular movies remade with bunnies. It was awesome. That was the only time I made it through clockwork orange.
I guess Cute and Horror best go together with food and outfits. I need a freaking awesome hand bag now.
Anyway monster of the week: Tikbalang. What's cuter than a baby? Before it eats you alive.

Weekend
Every weekend I end up with a horror movie marathon. Depending how often I fall asleep during the movies depends how many I've watched. This weekend I've fallen asleep a lot. And the movies I will review are:
Hellion: The Devil's Playground -It was cheesy in a way where you could of had it a kids movie if you took out the sex references and cussing. It's about a hella rich neighborhood that had one crappy house home to a guy who sacrificed children in some satanic ritual. The characters have inconsistent personalities. I mean it's okay for the kids, they're possessed. Oh and everyone else is kinda slow. I mean it'srefreshing not to have characters jump to supernatural conclusions, but to choose how the situation played out before-hand and not let anyone give their side is not cool. Oh and the evil cubby house, that's some special evil. Not the best movie but fun to watch.
The Possession of David O'Reiley: I loved the movie but at the end I got into an argument about whether the guy was psycho or haunted. I don't think he was remotely possessed. . . Anyway this movie is about a guy who after finding out his wife cheated on him went to his friends house to stay. While at the house he progressively began flipping his lid until the things in the darkness were inside the house. I'll be honesty, the question why didn't they just leave when they had the chance might enter your mind but honestly if you think your friend went psycho you won't believe in monsters invading your house that only he can see and it does show emotional distress over considering sending him to a looney bin. Anyway watch this in the dead of night and it is creepy.
Txt - Filipino horror about a dead obsessive boyfriend. I liked the movie. So the boyfriend kills all her friends who disliked the girlfriend's relationship with him. (Except his bitchy mother) Certain horror movie rules are followed but something seems different about the movie, but I can't put my finger on it. Anyway they seek professional help (priests/exorcists) after realizing the boyfriends mother couldn't have done everything. Wait! the horror movie difference show the characters making rational thoughts! They still fail but they made the effort.
The Bonesetter Returns: I fell asleep during this one and didn't try rewatching it. It extremely low budget and a second in the series. Returns wasn't a big enough give away. Anyway I'll have to wait until I see the first. And by low budget I mean wasn't made for theatre viewing.

Anthologies Pt1
After getting into watching Amicus production horror anthologies, I began looking for more. I've always loved them before, but I guess I got incentive. I do want to say my least favorite from Amicus is Vault of Horror. The stories didn't seem as smooth as the other films, like they were forced or rushed. The stories are good concept wise but something is lacking.
SPOILERS MAYBE
Dr. Terror's House of Horrors don't be fooled. They are on a train the whole time. The tarot cards Dr. Terror (Peter Cushing) reads from his tarot cards to tell the passengers their fate. Two passengers being Christopher Lee and a young Donald Sutherland. Besides the cards being damn specific and death being used wrong (but honestly death sounds and looks more omnious just because most people dont study tarot.
Asylum was awesome. A doctor goes to an asylum and is promised a job if he can distinguish who
of the patients is really a doctor who went delusional. Each patient gives a description of how they ended up there. The stories are fun and I didn't expect the ending.
Tales from the Crypt was quite well done. However in this one they give you a hint to the end. Just pay attention to the beginning. This movie is most similiar to Vault of Horrors but better. In my opinion.
From Beyond the Grave was a cursed antique shop kind of thing. Peter Cushing ran a shop and if you cheated him he screwed you. Though in my opinion the guy who didn't cheat him still got screwed.
Spoiler Alert: The guy had to destroy the door he bought to save himself and his girlfriend. So he was out of his money and had nothing to show for it. Screwed.
So I watched a british anthology film called Little Deaths. It was all sexual. A couple bring home hobos to care for and rape. Something about semen killing people or something. And something S&M. After a point, I stopped paying attention. Especially after the first story's ending. There was no real build up to it. Suddenly it was hobos gone wild.
Another horror anthology I watched farther back was Nite Tales, yes N I T E. It was one of those ghetto horror blaxploitation things. All in all it was a pretty decent movie. Unless I'm confusing it with other blaxploitations (I've watched a few all around the same time) there are 3 stories. The third one is most memorable because it had to do with Bloody Mary, serial killers, and the question of clowns at midnight.
Snoop Dog's Hood of Horror is another anthology centering around a neighbor and Snoop Dog's soul collecting job. The stories are pretty interesting, especially the first with the girl given the power of spray painting come true and what she decides to do with it and her consequences for doing so. The movie goes part cartoon at some point which I think is cool. There is a story in there that had potential but ending up a little to vulgar for my tastes. Some spoiled rotten kid has to bunk with war vets and is driving them up the wall with his arangements and basically horrible human nature.
Now I'm tiring out but yeah Peace out.

Intro
Well since this is my first typing thingy, I probably won't be doing much but reviewing movies and books I've seen or posting short stories. I'll probably mention songs because if you get down to the point you can find some really awesome horror songs, like with the vocaloids. If anyone ever starts reading this, recommend me some good movies. I am always on the prowl. If I do blog soon it might be either The Cat People or Amicus's anthologies or The Woman in Black. Eventually I'll get to Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and not just Sherlock Holmes. Til then.
